Yet another post 24 hours late!! I won’t bore you with the details of why!!
Well, as the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end” and so it was today when we said farewell to our friends at Stone Throw Cottage. We had the most wonderful stay and will be returning as soon as possible and will stay longer next time! It was just like being with family. The china was even called ‘Queens’ and was from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) collection no less! In a conversation with Jerry I happened to mention in passing that I didn’t like mushrooms and sure enough when he cooked anything that included mushrooms he did a ‘special’ one for me without. Now that’s what I call attention to service. Jerry and Kim are the most accommodating hosts and the breakfasts and afternoon treats were just wonderful.

Goodbye Maine, hello New Hampshire!
Due to horrendous traffic, our journey up to New London took a lot longer than anticipated, 6.5 hours. We were a little concerned when we were unable to find New London on any maps but ‘Margaret’ (sat nav) got us here in the end. Bless, she’s not so bad.
We are now staying a The Inn on Pleasant Lake, it dates back to 1790. Will tell you more about the area once we’ve explored!
Ah! Traffic! I hate traffic! The culture shock from South Island New Zealand to driving in Melbourne Australia was brain blowing and nearly brought me out in a cold sweat. It’s amazing how soon you forget doing battle round Hyde Park Corner, every working day! The 4th of July looked just great. And you obviously had a great time with Kim and Jerry. Just what we said about B & B ‘s V. big hotels, no contest. We all can’t believe it’s Wimbledon and not continuous rain. 🍓🍓 ☀️ Travel safely.
Thanks Malcolm. We saw a little bit of Wimbledon when we were in a bar in Bar Harbour and we said that too, the grass looked really dry!!
Sandra, I have a task for you? When you are next shopping can you look out for/photograph some ladies cowboy boots please and let me know the price? I am hoping to buy some when in U.S. In Sept and wondered what kind of price they were. I know you like to shop 😉😃👍💁
Hi Ann, I will certainly do my best but here on the east coast we don’t really see any!! We really need to be further west and south. They usually start from about $200 up to just about any price, they can be very expensive according to the quality you want!! For the next five days we are in the middle of nowhere, no shopping malls and no mobile signal but at least we do have wifi!! Rest assured if I see any I will photograph and price for you. xx
