It wasn’t our intention to do a trip to the U.S this year! We were supposed to be ‘doing’ the Italian lakes. The holiday was booked but somehow the enthusiasm wasn’t there so, we cancelled and booked this trip instead. Not a ‘big’ trip this time, just the standard ‘two weeks’ plus one day!

Our plan is to fly into Atlanta in Georgia (never been to Atlanta before), home of the Coca Cola factory and Atlanta Braves baseball team (we have tickets to a game). Then, on to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee (never been there before either), but we are told it’s the most visited National Park in the U.S. (that came as a big surprise to us), then down to Charleston and Savannah both in South Carolina (two places we have visited before and loved) then back to Atlanta and home.
