After our two ‘big’ trips in 2013 and 2014 and the fact that we’ve had a new kitchen fitted (what exactly was wrong with the old one, it was only 27 years old??!!) it wasn’t our intention to do a trip at all this year but of course, it will come as no surprise to those who know us, that we are once again embarking on another trip to the U.S.A. but doing a much smaller ‘big’ trip, going for three weeks instead of the four we did last year! Well, we are pensioners you know!!
Our plan this year is to fly into New York (Newark actually), it’s so much easier to get out of Newark than JFK!! In all the years we have been visiting the U.S and all the States we have visited, would you believe that we have never visited Maine or Cape Cod?!! Well, those two wrongs are about to be righted!
From Newark we will drive up to Hyannis in Cape Cod then onto Concord, home of the start of the American Revolution and home to Louisa M. Alcott (author of the novel ‘Little Women’), on to Bar Harbor in Maine, New London in New Hampshire, then Elmira in upstate New York to see our good friends Dot, John and Nat then finishing with a visit to Lake George, again in upstate New York and finally back to Newark for our flight home.
